Joe was born in Denver, Colorado and moved with his family to Great Falls, Montana when he was five. Joe grew up in Great Falls and Graduated from CMR. Joe started in the towing business in 1990, while he was still in high school with Westgate Towing & Repair. He worked for Westgate Towing & Repair performing towing and recovery, and automotive service work until 2005. When Joe decided he needed a fresh start he left Westgate Towing and moved to Bozeman, MT. He worked for Best Rate Towing from 2006-2008 and joined the Army in 2008. However, due to medical injury he was honorably discharged. Joe drove semi truck for RoadOne from December 2008 until 2013 when he decided to come back to the profession he is most passionate about. Joe and Leah opened Benski Towing & Recovery in October 2014. Joe Benski began his Wreckmaster Certification program in 1997 and has earned and maintained the highest level of certification currently available (level 6/7). He was invited to enroll in the Instructor Training and Accreditation Program (ITAP) in 2012. Joe also received the Wreckmaster Top 10 Award in November 2015. The most outstanding towing operators in the field today have been recognized by WreckMaster for their hard work, attention to detail and as being the most prepared to handle complex towing situations that may arise. Each year, ten Wreckmaster Certified operators are selected by sixteen lead instructors as individuals who exemplify the mission and values of the WreckMaster Company. Joe also received ASE Certification in 2000 and 2005. Joe is dedicated in providing awareness and the importance of the “Move over Law-61-8-326”. Joe’s fellow tow & recovery truck driver, as well as best friend was killed when responding to a recovery accident. “The safety and protection of All Emergency Responders is crucial in providing for the safety of the public when they find themselves in vulnerable and stressful situations“ per Joe.
